Dr. Mueller and CCANDL team members recently published a new paper: A Scoping Review of Episodes of Lucidity in People Living With Dementia Near the End of Life: The Potential Role of Speech-Language Pathology in Research and Practice. This paper looks at the role Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) may have on progressing care and research for people living with dementia who are near the end of their life. Specifically, the paper looks at individuals experiencing episodes of lucidity (ELs), which are when a person living with dementia has moments of temporary recovery of function, communication abilities, and/or awareness of surroundings.

This a great accomplishment for our lab and the future of research for EL! This was a large team effort supported by our students and staff. I would like to highlight the efforts of two of our students, Madeline and Olivia, our research program manager, Leah, and our Principal Investigator, Dr. Mueller!
