  This February, first year MS SLP student Elizabeth Evans presented her work on African American Adults at Risk for Alzheimer’s Disease and the role of connected speech analysis. Her presentation included information from Gina Green Harris’s work and the ABCD recruitment model.

      Lab member Cassandra Peters received the Wisconsin Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology Association’s Friends of WSHA Scholarship. This scholarship is awarded to one chosen graduate student in the field of speech-language pathology or audiology in the state of Wisconsin each year for excellence in clinical, academic, and professional activities. Congratulations, Cassandra!

Members of CCANDL raised awareness for Alzheimer’s research and care by walking in the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s. It was a great day to come together and show our support for a wonderful organization and worthy cause.        

CCANDL lab members gave up a Saturday morning to work on speech/language transcription training. Elizabeth Villanueva, MS CFY-SLP and Erin Hackett, MS CFY-SLP expertly crafted and ran this training day.

This August, CCANDL received exciting news from the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center (ADRC).
